What Is iiNet?
iiNet is Australia’s top internet service provider, and its services are available all over the country. We make it easy for Aussies to connect to great-value broadband with our wide range of NBN plans and our own ULTRA Broadband Cable, FTTB, and VDSL2 networks.
Customer service is the only thing we’re more passionate about than telecommunications. In fact, more than 90% of our staff works directly with customers. A lot of awards have been given to our great customer service team. Australia’s largest consumer group, CHOICE, named us Australia’s Best NBN Provider for 2018, 2019, and 2020.
iiNet was started in 1993 in a suburban garage. We’ve been around since the days of dial-up, and we’ve been quick to adopt every new broadband technology since then. With decades of experience, we’re committed to helping Australians connect to better broadband services.
iiNet About Us
iiNet doesn’t offer the flashy extras that some other providers do, but the company does offer simple plans with good value. Even though iiNet’s data allowances aren’t as big as some other companies’, some of their plans do include international call value that isn’t limited to certain countries. If you use too much data, you will be charged, but this will come out of your “Prepaid Balance” instead of having to add money to your plan.

Each Product On Its iiNet Own
All plans require you to pay your monthly fee up front, instead of getting a bill at the end of the month like with a postpaid plan. However, unlike other prepaid plans, this one doesn’t have a set number of days before it expires. Instead, it lasts for one month. One thing that makes iiNet’s prepaid plans different from other prepaid plans is that you don’t have to recharge your plan if you use up everything that comes with it. Instead, iiNet gives you a “Prepaid Balance” that starts at $0 when you sign up, but you can add to it at any time to pay for extra charges. But be careful, because if you cancel your plan, you will lose any prepaid balance you still have.
Is Iinet A Good Deal?
If you want a prepaid SIM-only plan, what iiNet has to offer can be a good deal. There are other service providers that offer more data for less money and even unlimited calls and SMS on the lower plans, but the data included for the price is pretty good compared to what other providers offer.
The way you pre-pay for your plan could also be a selling point if you don’t like how prepaid plans are usually sold or if you don’t like having to recharge your phone 13 or more times a year. This different kind of prepaid plan might help iiNet stand out, but make sure you know how these plans are billed and if there are any tricks, like the “prepaid balance,” that could end up costing you more.
