What Is Esure?
Peter Wood, a businessman, started Esure in 2000. He also started Direct Line Insurance for the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Esure is also known for its high-profile commercials with Michael Winner, which ran from 2002 to 2005 and started up again in 2007. The ads gave rise to the phrase “Calm down, dear, it’s just an ad.”
On November 21, 2007, it was announced that ITV National Weather bulletins would no longer be sponsored by E.ON. Instead, they would be sponsored by Esure. Carat Sponsorship worked out the two-year deal, which was said to be worth £10 million and began on January 1, 2008. [4] On February 11, 2010, Lloyds Banking Group sold 70% of Esure to Esure Group Holdings, which is led by Peter Wood. About £185 million was put on the share. In March 2013, the company went public on the London Stock Exchange. On December 8, 2014, Esure announced that it was buying the last 50% of shares in the financial comparison website Gocompare.com. It already had a stake in the company, but it wasn’t enough to control it. Gocompare.com was split off from the company again in November 2016.
Esure About Us
In 2013, there were worries about a possible conflict of interest. Peter Wood gave tens of thousands of pounds to the Conservatives, and Esure’s initial public offering (IPO) in February 2013 showed that 2012 laws that were good for insurance companies gave Esure room to grow. “It’s clear that Esure thought the new laws would help it, and Peter Wood thought the same thing because he made £198 million from the flotation, which is about a third of his shares.”
In October 2014, Esure was criticised because it turned down an insurance claim and only gave a policyholder whose abusive husband had set fire to her home a “goodwill payment” of £5,000. The husband admitted to torturing his wife with an axe for three days, and because he didn’t pay the policy, the woman was left without a home. In a statement, Esure said that they had “the deepest sympathy for the horrifying event,” but they also said that insurance was meant to cover “unexpected events and accidents, not intentional and illegal acts by people to damage their own property.”

Esure Insurance
Esure offers insurance for your car, your home, and your trips. The company focuses on customers who are less likely to make a claim. For example, customers with a no-claims bonus get cheaper car insurance premiums. Esure car insurance also includes the First Alternative brand. In the past, First Alternative was a separate, licenced insurer that gave quotes to customers with higher risks. Now, First Alternative is a small-scale sub-brand of Esure.
The main difference between comprehensive insurance, third party only insurance, and third party fire and theft insurance is how it protects your car in an accident. It also covers things like damage done by accident. For instance, if you hit your car while pulling out of a driveway, you could make a claim on your insurance to pay for the repairs.
Complete car insurance also pays for damage to your car when it’s hard to figure out who did it. This could be the case if you came out of your house and found that someone had dented your car door and then left without leaving their information.
