Symantec acquired PC Tools
Symantec Corp. announced the signing of a final agreement on the acquisition of the company PC Tools, which supplies the world market software products designed to protect privacy and security of users of computers running Windows. Financial terms of the acquisition are not disclosed. It is expected that, subject to the usual formalities and approval by regulatory authorities transaction will be completed by the end of the calendar year.
The acquisition will allow Symantec PC Tools offers users expanded line of products.
PC Tools will operate as a separate department in the divisions Symantec’s consumer products under the leadership of Director General of PC Tools Simon Clausen (Simon Clausen). PC Tools will continue to issue own products under the brand name PC Tools and service their customers through traditional partners and marketing channels.
PC Tools - a closed-end company with headquarters in Australia and offices in the U.S., UK, Ireland and Ukraine. The company serves customers worldwide, and its products are sold in over 196 countries.
