Video of the Day: Halluc II or currently transformer-cockroach
In one of robots on the forums, recently held in the city Kashiwazaki, the Institute of Technology engineers of Japan (Institute of Technology Japan) showed the press a very original model of the robot-cockroach Halluc II. This device, which many are not ashamed to call this transformer, may in future become the service of the military or scientists. With 20 kg in weight and length of 80 centimeters, Halluc II can drag and gravity to transport up to 150 kg.
Interestingly, the robot operates on a processor AMD Geode (800 MHz) and operating system Linux. As seen on video, the model is able to move in several ways - by Wheelchair, on the principle of an insect. Thanks to a range of “legs”, robot-cockroach can overcome obstacles and easily climb on a hill.
Target in the space Halluc II helps a range of sensors and sensor. The model is equipped with the camera. Charges battery robot is enough for half an hour of work.
